Singapore National Day

Singapore National Day: The Singapore economy is expanding its recovery from the 2008 global economic crisis. The GDP grew by 4.9% in the first half of 2011, while unemployment remains low at 2.1%. Despite some risks on the horizon, we project a steady growth of 5-6% for 2011.

Our last five years were marked by uncertainty and rapid change marked. We enjoyed some very good years, when our economy was booming and wages rose. But we have also experienced some very disturbing moments, especially during the global economic crisis.

Under such unprecedented turbulence, the government has to protect their utmost to Singaporeans of the global crisis. We have the jobs credit to viable companies and job security. We formed the committee long-term economic strategies to identify opportunities and map out a path for the future.
